IT Support Specialist
Job Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an IT Support Specialist, located in Ibaraki. The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support and troubleshooting issues related to desktop computers and other IT equipment. Daily tasks include responding to help desk inquiries, resolving technical problems, and ensuring smooth IT operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate directly with Japanese end users in Japanese (reading, writing, and speaking) without reliance on translation tools.
- Read, understand, and respond to Japanese incident tickets, manuals, and documentation, including those containing complex kanji.
- Act as a point of contact for Japanese users and customer stakeholders.
- Technical & Field Support
- Provide on-site and remote support for: Desktop/Laptop hardware and software issues.
- OS installation, reimaging, and configuration.
- Application troubleshooting and support.
- Conference room and AV support.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware repair, replacement, and service delivery.
- Asset Management Responsibilities.
- Physical Asset Management and inventory tracking.
- Asset allocation for new joiners.
- Collection of assets from resigned users.
- Loaner device allocation and tracking.
- Weekly and monthly asset audits.
- Asset disposal activities in compliance with policies.
- Operational & Administrative Tasks.
- Maintain and update operational forms, reports, and documentation.
- Follow established processes and ensure compliance with internal and client standards.
- Proactively review manuals and documentation to resolve issues independently after initial guidance.
Qualifications
Proficient in Technical Support and Troubleshooting Proficient in Microsoft Intune, Active Directory, O365 Admin, Windows SCCM Experience with Desktop Computers and Information Technology Skilled in Help Desk Support and customer service Excellent problem-solving and communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively on-site Experience in a similar role is beneficial Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field is preferred Must be a Japanese native with fluent English-speaking skills.
